Unveil Me

I can’t be who I am Lord,

No one can see my pain,

I don’t want to show me,

What shall I be today,

Should I be confident,

Demand attention of everyone in the room,

With a purpose and a plan,

I have that mask,

Should I put it on?

To take off this mask will show my insecurities,

What shall I be today,

Lord, I want you to choose,

What shall I be today,

Let me look through my masks,

Should I be proper,

Use all the right words,

Walk with elegance,

I have that mask,

Should I put it on?

Unveiling would show to much,

If I would unveil they’d see,

Every scar and insecurity,

Lord, I want you to pick my mask,

Let me search through them,

What shall I be today,

Should I be poised,

Know my place,

Never shaken or moved,

I have that mask,

I can look like I have it all together,

Should I put it on?

I cant live like this anymore,

Faking but covering the truth,

Lord, I have so many masks to wear,

Every morning I decide what to be,

I search through each one,

Decide who I’ll be,

I cannot unveil the real me,

But Lord, will you take my masks,

So I don’t hide behind them,

No longer do I want to cover up,

Who am I to be,

Shall I look?

I want to wear You,

In prayer, I leave behind my insecurities,

Unveil my face,

Let your glory shine through,
